Launching the Retail Book of Innovation 2016

Innovation is a core value in Sonae, present inour daily mission and conduct. This priority has reflected into a serious andpermanent investment, on a financial and on a human level, so we can be able toguarantee that all our clients’ needs and preferences are swiftly met. Acornerstone in our strategy, Innovation is contemplated in the mission of ourseveral business units.

The "Retail Book of Innovation 2016”, published this March, presents a selection of 71 innovations that are proof of our daily endeavor to stimulate the creativity of our employees, the leading actors ofinnovation across the entire organisation. More and more, thisInnovation culture is crossing over company boundaries, positioning Sonae as aleading company in an open, interchanging, multinational and interculturalinnovation, with partners in four continents.

Our Innovation Book is the reflection of thesevalues and of our openness to the world. Last year alone, Sonae’s commitment to innovation,research and development involved over 300 partners in 25 countries, in a totalaccumulated investment of more than 600 million euros over the course of thepast ten years.

This year,in addition to the digital and published version of the Innovation Book (whichyou can find here), we took important steps in the digital context. We prepareda summary of the most relevant innovation projects of past years and made themavailable in a dedicated area of Sonae’s corporate website, along with a simplifiedsearch and look up (see here). Likewise, we created a showcase area on LinkedIn, which I invite you all to follow (seehere) in order to keep up with what is done in terms of Innovation at Sonae. Doyou accept our challenge?
